>I love the way knitting brings people together. – Debbie Macomber, American author
Knitters know that you can never have too many bags! Carrying your projects in a bag that coordinates with a previous Irocknits Designs project, with the colors of your current cast on or with your favorite colors can be a fun way to carry your knitting with a little extra flair.
This is a companion piece to the [Knitting at the Library Cowl][3] one of my most popular patterns.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a checklist pattern. Each round is written out for easier tracking and checkboxes are placed for marking off upon completion. However, this makes the pattern significantly longer. Check to see the pages you want to print before starting.
PATTERN NOTES: An easy to knit textured stitch pattern sampler made to look like books on a shelf. This bag is knit first as a flat bottom rectangle in garter stitch and then picked up around to join to the sides and set aside. The body of the bag is knit end to end and also picked up along the edges for a graft to the base of the bag. Finally, the top edge is picked up to complete the double knit top casing. All stripes are worked in a sampler of stitches easy enough for a beginner.
I highly recommend matching the weight of your yarn to the pattern yarn weight that is recommended. (For example: this pattern recommends worsted weight yarn = 110 yards (91 m) per 50 grams (1.7 oz) Using a skein with significantly fewer or more yards will result in a different product.
SAMPLE: Knit in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted (100% Peruvian Highland wool; 110 yds/50g) per ball.) using colorways: MC Persimmon Heather (gold) 60 g; CC1 Noble Heather (green) 18 g; CC2 Hollyberry (dark red) 30 g; CC3 Amethyst Heather (purple) 11 g; weighing a total 111 g and using 245 yards.
Tech edit and graphic design by Corrina Ferguson.
Test knitters were Christine Cardinal, Brenda Kochensparger, Cathy Manchur, Teresa Murphy and Helen Woodcock.
