Pi Socks

Today is **Pi** Day! **Pi** Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant **π**. It is observed on March 14 (the 3rd month) since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant figures of pi, and was first celebrated in the United States in 1988. **Pi** is a special number that describes how many times the diameter of a circle fits into its circumference – about 3.14 times. I need **pi** quite often, e.g. to calculate necklines. And now also for striped socks. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Heute ist **Pi**-Tag! Ich brauche **pi** ganz oft, z. B. zur Berechnung von Halsauschnitten. Und jetzt auch für eine Ringelsocke.
