Pride Flags (& Bunting)

This is a written crochet pattern for the “Pride Flags (& Bunting)”- which explains how to make any pride flag that has 3 to 8 horizontal stripes, as well as the two progress pride flag variations (2019 & 2021), demisexual / demiromantic flags and the intersex flag. Instructions are included on how to attach the flags to a dowel, and also how to create bunting with the flags. Alternatively the flags could also be used just by themselves as patches sewn onto jackets and/or backpacks etc. The pattern is available in both US and UK terms. The PDF file is 31 pages long with detailed instructions and lots of photos. This pattern is suitable for crocheters that are already familiar with basic crochet stitches/techniques (e.g ch, sc, inc, colour changing, working into ch-spaces, working into the side of rows etc). The flags are worked flat in rows. The flags are quite simple to make and the pattern should be fairly accessible to beginners, however, please note the pattern itself DOES NOT teach you how to crochet for the first time, so you will need some experience with crochet already. Materials & Tools Required: •Yarn, in the relevant colours for any flags you choose to make. All in (roughly) same yarn weight category. •A crochet hook that matches your yarn weight. •Scissors •Tapestry/finishing needle •Wooden dowel(s), if mounting flag(s). I used bamboo dowel rods that were 30cm long, 6mm diameter. •Stitch markers (optional) •Pins to help with sewing (optional) Using a 3mm hook and DK weight yarn most of my finished flags were about 12cm x 9cm. The 5-stripe flag was slightly taller (12cm x 9.5cm), and the 7-stripe flag was slightly shorter (12cm x 8cm).
