Chunky Skye Cable Cardigan

Skye is a fun, chunky weight, textured and cabled cardigan that works up quickly due to the combination of the US 10 [6mm] needles and the engaging nature of the cable design. It has a modern oversized fit and is worked top down. The cardigan features an integral vertical button-band which is worked at the same time as your cardigan, avoiding having to pick it up to work later. Skye is designed with European or Diagonal Shoulders meaning that the shoulder seam sits slightly down the back from the top of your actual shoulders. This gives the cardigan a beautiful fit in this area. The slope of the shoulders is created using short rows. The side seams are sewn together with mattress stitch. The neckband is picked up and worked in 1x1 rib. All the ribs are cast off using an Italian Bind-off for a professional finish. Charts are provided for the pattern.
