A very simple and easy-to-knit beanie, designed so that the rib pattern of the folded brim matches the body of the hat perfectly. The hat is worked from the bottom up in a 2x1 rib pattern, then the inside and outside sides are switched using a short row. The body of the hat continues to be knitted in 2x1 ribbing, while the crown is shaped with decreases. You can modify the fit of the hat, as the pattern has instructions for a rounded or pointy crown. Also, you can choose to knit a single-folded or double-folded brim. The pattern also includes instructions to knit a matching neck warmer. __________ Gauge: 20 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm / 4″ in 2x1 rib after blocking. Needles: 3.5 mm / US 4 (40 cm / 16″) circular needles. You will also need DPN’s or circular needles with a longer cable using the magic loop technique to shape the crown.
