Crimped edging frames the soft, layered fabric of plush garter and lattice lace accented with wrapped stitches and nupps. The result is a satisfying knit, delicate and indulgent. The shawl is worked from the bottom tip up. The crimped edges along the right and left side of the shawl are knit together with the body, and the edging along the top is completed at the same time with the bind off. Choose between one of three sizes or knit until you run out of yarn! The pattern is both charted and written out, videos for the trickiest techniques provided. **Yarn** - 350 (700, 1050)yds / 320 (640, 960)m of sport weight yarn (can also use heavy fingering or light DK weight) - White sample shawl, size Large: [Polwarth Sport][1] from Bare Naked Wools (100% Polwarth wool; 4oz / 115g, 350yds / 320m), undyed - Oatmeal sample shawl, size Small: [Finn Dandy 3-ply Sport][2] from Bare Naked Wools (100% Finn wool; 4oz / 115g, 375yds / 443m), color Reindeer Oatmeal **Needles and Gauge** - US 3 / 3.25mm needles (straight or on a long cable) or the size needed to obtain gauge of: - 25 sts and 40 rows in 4” / 10cm in garter stitch, blocked - The gauge is not crucial for this pattern, but changes to it will affect the required yardage and the finished size of the shawl **Sizes** - Small (Medium, Large) - Wingspan 36.2 (55.9, 68.5)" / 92 (142, 174)cm - Depth at the widest point 14.5 (24, 28.3)" / 37 (61, 72)cm - Shown in sizes Small (oatmeal), Large (white) **Construction** - The shawl is worked flat from the bottom tip up. Increases made along the edges shape the shawl as a triangle. - The fabric is composed of alternating stripes of garter and lace. - The crimped edging is worked at the same time with the body of the shawl. - When the desired length is reached or the yarn is close to running out, the top is finished with crimped bind off.
