Birdseye Crew

Since making my Birdseye Henley, I have wanted a crew neck version in a heavier weight yarn. The Norwegian motif, reminiscent of migrating birds, featured in this sweater dates back to the 1800's and was popularized in the United States by LL Bean in the 1970's. The short floats make a simple and very insulating, cozy knit. This pullover uses raglan construction and Worsted weight yarn for a classic design – a timeless wardrobe staple. The sweater is knit bottom up, body and sleeves each worked separately, then all pieces are joined to work the yoke. Short rows are worked in the collar ribbing.
