Note Sweater is worked from the top down and features a European shoulder construction. The sweater is knitted on 3 mm needles, giving it a lovely lightweight and comfortable feel. I have tested Note Sweater in three different types of yarn: the navy version is knitted in cashmere, the light brown in a soft wool–silk blend, and the light one in Pelsuld. Sizes (XXS) XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL Measurements of the sweater Bust circumference: (110) 115 (120) 126 (132) 138 (145) 152 (162) 172 cm [(43.25) 45.25 (47.25) 49.5 (52) 54.25 (57) 59.75 (63.75) 67.75”] Length: (52) 53 (53) 54 (55) 56 (57) 58 (59) 60 cm* [(20.5) 20.75 (20.75) 21.25 (21.75) 22 (22.5) 22.75 (23.25) 23.5”]* Yarn, navy sweater Sandnes Garn Cashmere (100% cashmere, 25 g = 110 m) 5882 Dark Navy: (325) 350 (375) 400 (425) 450 (475) 500 (525) 575 g Yarn, light brown sweater Einrum Lamb 2 (89% wool 11% mulberry silk, 100 g = 533 m) 3050: (300) 300 (300) 300 (300) 400 (400) 400 (400) 500 g Yarn, cream sweater Hjelholt Dansk Pelsuld 8/2 (100% wool, 100 g = 400 m). Creme: (400) 400 (400) 400 (400) 500 (500) 500 (600) 600 g Recommended needles Circular needles 2,5 and 3 mm, 40 and 80 cm [US 1.5 and US 2.5, 16 and 32”]. Double pointed needles 2,5 and 3 mm (unless you use the magic loop method). Gauge 26 sts x 38 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] on 3 mm [US 2.5] needles. Construction The sweater is worked in one piece, from the top down. First, the upper back is worked flat, each shoulder separately. Then stitches are cast on for the neck, and the back is worked with increases for the shoulders and later for the armholes. Then stitches are picked up along the shoulder edges of the back, and each side of the front is worked separately until the neckline is shaped. Continue working the front until the armhole is worked. The back and front are then joined and worked in the round. The neckband is then knitted. Finally, stitches are picked up along the armhole edges; short rows are worked to shape the sleeve cap, and the sleeve is finished in the round. Size guide Note Sweater is designed to have approx. 20-30 cm [7.75-11.75”] of positive ease. If you are knitting with a lightweight yarn, such as Einrum Lamb 2, I recommend less ease than with, for example, Hjelholt Dansk Pelsuld 8/2, which is slightly heavier and more substantial. The navy blue and the light brown Note Sweater is shown with approx. 28 cm [11”] of positive ease. The cream sweater is shown with approx. 36 cm [14.25”] of positive ease. Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the largest part of your upper body). Then look at the measurements at the beginning of the pattern (these are the finished measurements of the sweater). Positive ease is the difference between your personal measurement and the sweater's measurement. For example, if your bust circumference is 94 cm [37”], a size S will give you a positive ease of 26 cm [10.25”] (120 cm – 94 cm = 26 cm) [47.25”- 37” = 10.25”] *The length is measured at the center back excl. the neckline.
