Jali Sunglasses Case

This pattern is inspired by latticed stone screens used as indigenous architectural elements in South Asia. Developed as a quick and simple workshop project for my Yarncraft Circle in Lahore, the piece is a great stash-buster plus a good candidate for an elegant last-minute knitted gift. The Jali pattern is a single-technique mosaic knit, overlaid on a simple swatch assembled as a glasses case. The pattern is versatile enough to be adapted for length in other projects. In addition to the mosaic pattern, this piece packs in a few other knitting techniques useful for beginners of colorwork, including a faux i-cord, 2-color i-cord bind-off and a grafting variation relevant for the project.
