NEEDLES US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, 24" / 60 cm or longer for the body. US 2.5 / 3 mm circular needles, 24" / 60 cm or longer for the neckline edge and button band, and DPNs for the sleeve ribbing (if not using the Magic Loop technique). US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles, 24" / 60 cm or longer for the hem ribbing. Or needle size that gives you the correct gauge. GAUGE 19 sts × 33 rnds to 4" / 10 cm on US 6 / 4 mm needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking. NOTIONS Stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn or stitch holders, 5 buttons (diameter approx. 0.5" / 12 mm). NOTES The dress is worked from the top-down starting at the back neck. The upper back is worked flat to the underarms. Stitches are picked up along the back shoulders to work the upper front down to the underarms. The pieces are then joined and the body is worked flat until the beginning of the skirt. The skirt is worked in the round. Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves and a few short rows are worked to shape the sleeve cap. The sleeves are then knitted in the round down to the cuffs. The neckline, hem, cuffs and button bands are finished with ribbing, and buttons are sewn on.
