This pattern is a top-down raglan t-shirt knit in the round. The long sleeves look like they are coming out from under the t-shirt, but are an integrated part of the shirt. Beginner-friendly, with picture tutorials that visualize the techniques and make them easy to follow. The pattern shows examples of stripes, but it is very much up to you how you knit it - with stripes or not. There are 6 sizes fitting bust circumference: 78-84 (85-91) 92-100 (101-109) 110-120 (131-130) Techniques: • Raglan • Knit • Purl • Rib • Folded edge • Casting on • Binding off Materials: • 5 mm circular needle for the body (40 cm + 80 cm) • Stitch markers • Waste yarn or stitch holders • 2–3 different types of yarn Gauge – Body (after blocking) 18 stitches x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles. Gauge – Sleeves (after blocking) 19 stitches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles. You may choose how many different yarn types you want to use for the sweater and the thickness of the stripes. The pattern describes the overall construction of the sweater, while the stripe design is left to your artistic freedom. Below are a few examples showing different yarn types and varying stripe widths. The yarn requirements are divided into T-shirt (body) and sleeves in case you choose to use different yarns for each section. The quantities are rounded up to ensure you have enough yarn: T-shirt (body): 600 (600) 700 (750) 800 (800) meters of yarn Sleeves: 250 (300) 350 (400) 400 (450) meters of yarn The yarn used for the T-shirt (body) should be in DK / Light Worsted or Medium / Worsted weight, as these yarn weights best match the gauge. For the sleeves, you may use a Fingering / Sock weight yarn if you prefer a lighter look and feel.
