LINUM cardigan

LINUM is the old Latin name for the flax plant, the source of linen. The linen stitch forms the foundation of this cardigan, so the name came quite naturally. The LINUM cardigan is a sturdy cardigan, knitted top down. First, the yoke is worked back and forth across the back. Then each shoulder and front piece is knitted separately, also back and forth. After that, the front and back are joined to close the armholes and form the body. The body is then knitted entirely back and forth. The sleeves are worked in the round later, after picking up stitches around the armholes. Finally, the button bands and neckline are knitted after picking up stitches around the neck opening and along the front edges of the cardigan.
