Mystical Bag

Mystical Bag is a modular crochet pattern for creating a customizable tote bag using decorative granny squares. The bag is made from moon, star, and sun motifs, then assembled and finished with handles and edging. The pattern is written in US terms, includes written instructions and charts, and is suitable for advanced beginners and up. The finished size depends on the granny square size. The medium bag measures approximately 30 × 30 cm. The bag is constructed from 13 granny squares. In the sample shown, 8 Moon motifs and 5 Star (or Sun) motifs are used. Refer to the charts throughout the pattern: STAR, MOON, and SUN. Yarn used is Scheepjes Catona (100% cotton). The number of skeins may vary depending on size and color choice. For the 2-color sample, 1 skein Ginger Gold (383) and 3 skeins Old Lace (130) were used. Crochet hook: 3 mm, plus a tapestry needle and scissors. Getting exact gauge is not critical, but consistent tension is important so all panels measure the same size.
