Spring Feverish 2026: Ridgerunner Kerchief

This kerchief knits up pretty fast in heavy sock to sportweight yarn, and ties with cute i-cord; I felt like the color-effect handspun was a little self-indulgent, more focused on enjoyable knitting than final results, and I’m a little surprised at how good it looks finished. I used a lot of handspun and some Knitpicks Gloss and Chroma Fingering for mine, but good yarn substitutions would probably include Malabrigo Yarn Arroyo or Noro Silk Garden Sock. Both of these, in my experience, knit up a bit heavier than a standard sock yarn. **Materials:** * 155-175 yards of sportweight yarn * 1 24" circular needles in US3-5/3.25-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge * tapestry needle for weaving in ends * optional: removable stitch markers * optional but recommended: DPNs in size needed for gauge—these make knitting i-cord much easier **Gauge:** Gauge is 22 sts and 44 rows over 4"/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat and blocked lightly. **Measurements:** This triangle as shown is 20.25"/51cm across the longest edge and 9"/23cm deep.
