Festive Scarf

The festive scarf is a triangular shaped scarf featuring a fun lace stitch that looks a bit like a cable and I cord edges. Worked from tip to tip, the size of the scarf can easily be adjusted to your liking. Shown in both a one skein and two skein version **Sizes:** 1(2) **Measurements** 56 (68)” / 142 (173) cm length from tip to tip. 8 ½ (11)” / 21.5 (28) cm depth at center. **Yarn:** Any yarn from heavy fingering to Aran weight. **Yarn used:** Size 1: Cape May Fiber DK Merino Superwash (100% SW Merino – 231 yds / 211 m per 100g skein) in Festivus – 1 skein. Size 2: Malabrigo Rios (100% SW Merino – 210 yds / 192 m per 100g skein) in Old Rose - 2 skeins. Approximate Yardage: 230 (370) yds / 211 (338) m (The yardage is just an estimate. Personal tension and differences in fiber could affect these numbers) **Needles**: US size 8 (5mm). **Gauge:** 18 sts 24 rows = 4” / 10cm in st st, 19 sts = 3” / 7.5 cm in St pattern. Gauge is not particularly important for this project but may affect the finished size and the amount of yarn needed. **Notes** • This scarf is worked from tip to tip and the size can easily be modified. • The scarf has a three stitch icord edge on each side that is worked at the end of every row. When working this edge the sts are slipped purlwise with yarn in back on RS rows and purlwise with yarn in front on WS rows. • If, when performing the increases and decreases, you do not have enough sts to make the 3 stitch LOK, just work these sts in Stockinette stitch.
