My Valentine Socks

**MY VALENTINE SOCKS** The socks is worked top down with twisted rib and stockinette stitch. Two charts are used – one for the hearts on the leg and a smaller chart that is repeated on the foot. The heel is worked with short rows, and the toe is shaped with decreases and finished with Kitchener stitch for a soft and invisible closure. The socks are worked on double pointed needles. **Size:** EU shoe size women 35–36 (37–38) US shoe size women 5 – 6 (6,5 – 7,5) **Needles:** Double pointed needles (DPNs) 2,25 mm and 2,5 mm US1 and US1,5. **Gauge:** 34 sts × 42 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4” × 4” in stockinette stitch on 2,25 mm US1 needles. **Measurements:** Measurements taken after blocking. Leg length: 14 (14) cm / 5½” (5½)” Leg circumference in pattern: approx. 21 (23) cm / 8¼” (9”) Foot circumference: approx. 21 (23) cm / 8¼ ”(9”) Foot length: 22 (24) cm / 8¾” (9½”) Please note: making the sock longer will require additional yarn. **Materials:** Softsock from Moods of Colors (75% merino wool, 25% nylon, 100 g = 425 m / 464 yds) MC: Misty Lavender Moods, 100 g CC: Mulberry Lavender Moods, approx. 30 g Want to see more of my work?
