The armholes are gently shaped with decreases, and the shoulders and sleeve caps are shaped with short rows. The sleeve is worked straight almost to the cuff, as which point dramatic shaping is worked. Length can be easily adjusted in the body and sleeves by adding or removing repeats of the cable chart. Samples have 1 less body repeat than called for in the pattern. Pink sample is size 6, worn by a 4 year old in the group photos, and a 5 year old in solo photos. Teal sample is size 8, worn by a 6 year old with 5” / 12.5 cm of positive ease. Each additional full diamond repeat on the body will require an additional 46, 47, 49, (53, 58, 60) {63, 66} yards / 42, 43, 45, (49, 53, 55) {57, 61} meters. Each additional full diamond repeat on the sleeves will require an additional 40, 40, 42, (44, 44, 44) {46, 48} yards / 36, 36, 38, (40, 40, 42) {42, 44} meters. A fingering weight yarn held with a lace weight yarn would also work well. The pink sample is a cotton fingering weight yarn held with a coned lace weight yarn of unknown fiber content. It has held up really well after heavy wear and washes.
