Whipped Leaf Cowl is a refined, one-skein version of the "Whipped leaf shawl," offering the elegance of a drapey shawl with the effortless ease of a compact accessory. The design features a sophisticated interplay between "whipped" leaf motifs and clean, modern stripes. Worked flat from the bottom up, its unique shape is achieved through strategic increase placement, then seamed at the back to form a tube. Starting with a small number of stitches, the cowl is worked in rows with increases at both edges. The right edge will form the back neck seam, while the left edge will become the top edge of the cowl. Once the back neck edge’s increases are complete, increases continue only on the left edge until it measures approximately 60 cm [23.5”]. Then, the piece is worked without further increases until this section’s length matches that of the initial back neck edge, then the stitches are bound off using the i-cord method. Finally, the back neck seam is sewn after blocking. If your gauge differs due to your yarn choice, you can easily adjust the size by ensuring the back neck seam lengths match and the total circumference is approximately 60 cm [23.5”].
