As part of the treatment, hair loss and many visits to the doctor during cold months is common. This bulky hat is designed to accompany the Delores Keyhole Scarf. A thick, squishy fabric and ribbing keeps the hat sitting comfortably, not pinching or irritating sensitive skin. The acrylic yarn helps keep the head warm during treatment-related hair loss. Acrylic yarn was chosen for the garment because it is washable, easily cared for, and is recommended for people undergoing chemotherapy. **Yarn** 80 yds/70g bulky weight (size 5) yarn (includes margin of error). The original piece was knitted using Loops &Threads Charisma (100% Acrylic) Bulky (109 yds/100g). The goal for this garment is to be friendly for people undergoing chemotherapy, so any of the available bulky yarns on the Knots of Love Guidelines are also recommended. **Needles** 9 mm (US 13) knitting needles, either circular or straight **Gauge** Gauge is not very important for this piece, but the goal is to create a stretchy, plush fabric that is somewhat dense, but doesn't overheat the wearer.
