**I’m so excited to welcome you! For a limited time, enjoy my exclusive Introductory Offer: - 50%!** *The Memory Loop Blanket is a sustainable, one-of-a-kind creation made entirely from rescued yarn ends. Cozy, colorful, and completely unique, it gives new life to scraps that might otherwise sit forgotten in a basket. I began this blanket round by round, memory by memory. What started as a simple stash buster grew into a joyful patchwork that reflects my crafting journey. Most of the yarns - many hand-dyed by me—carry their own stories, now woven together into this singular piece. This blanket is a simple and incredibly meditative to knit. It is the perfect project for brioche beginners and for more experienced knitters. Simple in construction, this blanket lets your yarns shine and your mind rest. You’ll be amazed at how quickly this project will fly off your needles! It is really snuggly, making it the perfect gift for a baby and an excellent present for a baby shower. Be warned – brioche is addictive! Memory Loop - where every stitch tells a story.* CONSTRUCTION The blanket is a one-piece design worked in the round from the center out, beginning with Emily Ocker’s Cast On. This cast on allows the yarn tail to be pulled tight, virtually eliminating the hole at the center. The piece grows outward into a square, expanding to the edges. Although originally designed as a blanket, it also makes a lovely folded shawl. The growing shape creates a balanced, symmetrical design, with each round adding to its unique beauty. Each increase round features six corner increases, resulting in six identical sections radiating from the center. The blanket is finished with an I-cord edging. Between brioche sections, airy interludes provide contrast and rhythm to the design. Using stitch markers will help you keep track of the increases. Because of the large number of stitches, it is worked on circular needles—possibly two or even three at a time to accommodate the size. Since the blanket is worked from the center outward, you can make it as large as you wish YARN: Brioche section yarn: Sample blanket: my own handdyed Debbie Bliss Rialto: (100% wool, Solid), DK 50 gr (1.76 oz) - 105 m (115 yds) Airy interlude yarn: Aade yarn (8/2), (100% wool, Solid), fingering 100 gr (3.53 oz) - 400 m (437 yds) Yarn hanks weight between 150 gr/ 5.25 oz. – 300 gr / 10.5 oz. Aade is our local lambswool yarn. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx 110 cm / (43“) diameter (corner to corner). Measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking. OTHER TOOLS: 3.5mm (E) crochet hook for cast on; 7 stitch markers; tapestry needle; scissors; round counter (if needed); blocking tools (wires and pins). GAUGE: 16 sts x 22 rounds = 10 cm / 4“ in two-color brioche stitch pattern after blocking. Needle sizes are recommendations only. Always use the needle size necessary to achieve given gauge (to save your time). (My personal knitting tension is tight). TECHNIQUES USED: Brioche in the round, brioche decreases/increases (br4sts inc, brk1, brp1, sl1yo), k1, p1, I-cord Bind-off. SKILL LEVEL: Adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter. Previous experience of working basic two-color brioche is not required, but it is recommended. NEEDLES: 3.50mm (US 4 ): DPNs, 60cm/24“ and 100cm/40“ or longer circular needle, or size needed to get the right gauge. 2 or even 3 circular needles may be needed to accommodate the large number of stitches. Magic loop method can be used for knitting the beginning sections in the round.
