Ever since I learned larger significance of Ground Hogs Day – how it fits directly between the winter solstice and the equinox-- it’s become a favorite holiday. Yes, it’s still winter, but the light is returning now at a gallop instead of a creep. The sap is beginning to rise in the trees- you can tell by the way the snow melts around the trunks. Rumor has it the burrowing animals are giving birth to their young. Spring isn’t here yet, but it will come. This pattern makes good use of leftover yarn from other projects. I have large hands, you may want to modify by using smaller needles or lighter weight yarn or fewer stitches. Any multiple of 4 will work.
