The fabric works up three layers thick, making it ideal for thermal projects. It’s well suited to coasters, trivets (depending on yarn composition), and blankets, thick, warm, and visually striking. It can also be turned into nesting baskets Stitch abbreviations: (US Terms) pm: Place marker dc: Double crochet sc: Single crochet ch: Chain skp: Skip stitch sl st: Slip stitch ch-sp: Chain space MC: Main colour CC: contrast colour Materials needed: Oscillations was designed using 8 ply/DK/weight 3 yarn, it is particularly striking using a variegated skein for the contrast colour and a neutral/solid main colour. I used Fiddlesticks Superb 8 in plain and prints Meterage: (approximately) The coaster using a 5.5 mm hook is 13cm and used 25m of CC and 50m of MC. I made the set of 3 nesting baskets, a coaster, a 24cm mat and scissor keepers using approximately 500 m of MC and 250 m CC Notions: Stitch markers x3 Wool/darning needle Recommended hook size: 4.5-5.5mm for 8ply or hook appropriate for your chosen yarn weight Stitch tips: Anything between *..* repeat the amount indicated x Anything between [...] is repeated within a *...* repeat Anything between {...} is worked in the same stitch or ch-sp. Eg. {dc5} in the next st is 5 double crochet worked in the same stitch Unless otherwise noted, only the first/ starting chains of each round are counted as a stitch The start and end of rounds are deliberately different to usual working in the round rules to achieve a ‘seamless’ effect. Please pay close attention to instructions You will be working the MC and CC independently. A marker will be placed where indicated to hold the colour you are not currently working with Stitches will be hidden by the fans, move the fans aside or count backward to find the right stitch This particular pattern has been sent to testers, my test team are amazing, however we are all human and some errors may remain.
