The Stella Sweater is a pattern that I designed to never need to be taken out of one's wardrobe. This pattern, while being suitable for anyone, has special accessibility features catered toward pregnancy, nursing, and post-partum life stages. During these times, we often find ourselves going to the closet and being time and time again disappointed that we have to shuffle our favorite pieces out when they stop fitting. The Stella Sweater avoids all of that hassle and keeps at least one piece for all seasons in your wardrobe.
The sweater features a deep raglan yoke that accommodates the changing bust sizes during the seasons of motherhood, a deep side split with double knit edges so that hems never cinch on growing bellies and so that little ones can be tucked right under for easy nursing access. The sleeves are wide fitted toward the top, but taper as they go down in order to not get in the way of busy mom life and messy kiddos.
This pattern is named in honor of Stella Maris, a title for the Blessed Mother rooted in tradition of her guiding sailors through dangerous storms. I find so much inspiration in her motherhood and grace.
I personally love to wear this sweater with leggings and boots, some boyfriend jeans and docs, or with a long skirt or dress underneath as seen in the photos. It is so versatile!
When I first started designing this sweater, I knew that I wanted something easy to modify, which is why I have included a chart at the end of the pattern and in the pattern photos here that displays every modification's necessary yardage increase by inch. Simply add the yardage to the listed requirement for your chosen size, and you are set. Please note that the sleeve section is for one sleeve. The chart also does not have a 10% allowance while the pattern does.
Finally, it is tough out there lately. I don't want cost to be what stops you from knitting my pattern. This is why I have included discount codes for 10, 15, and 20% off this pattern below. Please only use if you need it, but do not shy away from using it if you do need it! Being in a low income bracket myself, I know how it is just disappointing for something to be just out of reach. Because of this, I will also be giving you all a gift every mother's day by discounting the pattern even further, and having the discount open to all.
Discount codes- mama10, mama15, mama20
