Anacortes Socks

The Anacortes Sock pattern is the newest in the Anacortes family, which includes the [Pullover][1] & [Shawl][2] companion patterns. This design features a deceptively simple 2x2 broken rib pattern that is divided by a simple 1x1 half-twisted rib panel on either side of the foot to draw the eye down the sock. This is an incredibly fun pattern that knits up so quickly as it has enough interest to keep you knitting without ever feeling too difficult to keep up with. This cuff-down pattern has three heel options. I recommend the Heel Flap & Gusset for the overall aesthetic, though you can choose to do an Afterthought or Shadow Wrap Heel if you'd prefer. **This pattern has been tech-edited and tested.** **YARN** Salty Blonde Fibers 2-ply Sock *80% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon (Fingering Weight ) 400 yds (366 m) / 100 g; 1 skein in Trendsetter (red-violet) or Picnic (green)* **NEEDLES & NOTIONS** * US 1 (2.25 mm) needles for small circumference knitting * Stitch markers (including a unique BoR M), tapestry needle, waste yarn in contrasting color and same yarn weight (only if you choose the Afterthought Heel option) **SIZES** Adult S (M, L, XL) **Your Foot Circumference:** 8.5 (9.5, 10.5, 11.5) in [21.5 (24, 27, 29) cm] **Finished Sock Circumference:** 6.5 (7.5, 8.5, 9.5) in [16.5 (19, 21.5, 24) cm] **For Best Fit:** Measure the circumference of your foot around the widest part, and allow for 1-2 in (2.5-5 cm) of negative ease in circumference and 0.5 in (1 cm) negative ease in length. **GAUGE** 34 sts x 52 rounds in broken rib pattern = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm) after blocking **HEEL TECHNIQUES** Heel Flap & Gusset is recommended, but instructions for the Shadow Wrap Short Row Heel or the Afterthought Heel are also included.
