Snow Dazed Mittens

I knit this design a few years ago as a gift for my daughter, inspired by Selbu mitten designs. She told me recently that they’re still her favorite mittens! When she realized I’d never published the pattern…Well, here it is now. Pattern worked in the round from cuff to fingertips using Magic Loop. Back and Front of mitten are worked the same for Right and Left mitten, except for Thumb placement. Afterthought thumb sts worked on scrap yarn, then picked up and worked after body of mitten completed. Back of mitten features stranded colorwork with diamonds and snowflake motif, while palm features mini diamond shapes. Colorwork is charted, not written. All sts on charts are knit. Sample mittens used all of a skein of Sayama for the MC; if you are concerned about your available yardage, I suggest working some CC stripes in the cuff of both mittens to decrease the MC usage so that you don’t run out.
