Moonstone Cardigan

This Cardigan is an elevated knitwear design. The fit is tailored with adjustable parts & a slight flare sleeve. It is knit in all over stockinette stitch. It features an optional colourwork detail on both the body & sleeves. This design is to be worn as a layering piece or by itself as a top. This cardigan is designed to have positive ease. SIZES (XS, S, M)(L, XL, XXL) The sizes correspond with a bust circumference of (80-85, 85-90, 90-95)(95-100, 100-110, 110-120) cm or approx. (31.5-33.5, 33.5-35.5, 35.5-37.5)(37.5-39.5, 39.5-43.5, 43.5-47.25) inches. MEASUREMENTS This cardigan is designed to have 7-17 cm / approx. 3-7 inches of positive ease. You should choose a size that is 7-17 cm / 3-7 inches larger than your bust circumference. This provides an airy & loose fit. Bust circumference: (89, 94, 99)(108, 118, 128) cm / approx. (35, 37, 39)(42.5, 46.5, 50.5) Body length from under arm: 30 cm / approx. 12 inches (adjustable) Sleeve circumference at top: (37, 39, 40)(43, 47, 48) cm / approx. (14.5, 15.5, 16)(17, 18.5, 19) inches. Sleeve length: 55 cm / approx. 22 inches (adjustable) GAUGE 20 sts x 28 rows = 10x10 cm / 4x4 inches in stockinette stitch NEEDLES 4mm 80-100 cm circular needles for the body 4mm 40cm circular needles for the sleeves 3.5mm 60-100 cm circular needles for the trim NOTIONS Stitch markers tapestry needle & thread stitch holders or scrap yarn 5x small safety pins (optional) YARN The sample is knit using 2 strands of Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk held together for an overall DK weight yarn. The fabric is loose and airy. I recommend choosing a thick brushed alpaca or mohair for this project. You could also use a blown yarn. You will need approx. (200, 225, 250)(300, 300, 325) g of Brushed Alpaca Silk. You will also need 25-50g of yarn in a contrasting colour if you wish to do the colourwork sections.
