Chameleon beanie

The light is grey and everything looks like it’s made of the same colour. It’s freezing, and so you’d like to feel the warmth and add a little bit of something to counteract all of this greyness and cold. The Chameleon beanie is perfect for these kinds of days! It was inspired by the Herbie Hancock song “Chameleon”, which has a groovy, bouncing (and very cool I must say) bass line which reminded me of a scalloped edge. This beanie features a triple folded brim with a scalloped edge decoration. Two versions are available, one with big scallops and the other with tiny scallops if you prefer something more subtle. It is worked from the brim to the top. The crown length can be modified depending on if you like to have more or less room on top of your head. To emphasize the scalloped edge, I chose to work with two yarns that have different colours and textures. ***Information pour les francophones : je travaille actuellement sur une version Française qui sera ajoutée par la suite.*** **Sizes:** baby (child) adult S-M (adult M-L) Check all measurements info in the pictures. **Versions:** • Small scallops (all sizes) • Big scallops (all sizes except baby) **Suggested needles:** • 4.5 mm {US 7} • 4 mm {US 6} for the ribbing Or a needle size that gives you the right gauge. **Gauge:** Stockinette stitch on larger needles, blocked: for a 10×10 cm {4 in} square 19 sts and 28 rows **Suggested yarns:** Yarn A (Brim) 1 ball of Lalouknits Fluff colour • DK weight • 68% cotton, 22% baby alpaca, 10% fine merino • 110 m {120 y} / 50 g Or approximately 60(70)80(100)m {66(77)88(110)y} of a similar yarn. Yarn B (Ribbing and crown) 1 ball of Lalouknits Fluff Alpaca • Worsted • 32% superfine alpaca, 21% wool, 15% silk, 32% cotton • 110 m {120 y} / 50 g Or approximately 80(90)100(110)m {88(99)110(121)y} of a similar yarn.
