The idea to make this came to me almost like a vision when I started making my first kippah. I couldn't find a pattern to make what I wanted so I did some research and made my own based off of other free patterns. The basic bones of the kippah come from [Sandy Power's 417 Kippah][1] and the added wavy edge is inspired by (but not a copy of) the way that Lindsey Roe does the wavy edge on their [fried egg crochet pattern][2]. Based on weighing my skeins after making this project, I would estimate that I used less than 2.5 meters of the saffron and a little more than 32 meters of the white. I'm strongly considering reworking the way I do the wavy edge to make it wavier. This is my first attempt at this and I was a bit conservative with my stitches so a second attempt may yield better results. If I give it a second go, I will be sure to write it down here and update this pattern. **Accessibility statement:** **While this pattern can be made with any colors you want, the colors I used and recommend are a nearly white cream and a rich yellow. Because of the big difference in color value of these two colors, they can be easily told apart by crafters who are colorblind as well as being easy to tell apart in less than spectacular lighting for non-colorblind crafters. I can only personally attest that my red-green colorblind family member and friend found the color difference easy to tell apart but I believe the same would go for blue-yellow colorblindness.** **I have also included a version of the pattern that is in 22 point black arial font, no italics, has had all abbreviations replaced with the full word, and that I personally checked was working with Microsoft Edge's read-aloud function. The document is named Fried Egg Kippah Pattern Low Vision or Screen Reader. The pattern uses asterisks to denote the beginning and end of repeated stitch patterns.** **There is a third version that is in 12 point OpenDyslexic font for those who prefer it named Fried Egg Kippah Pattern Dyslexic Friendly. It has abbreviations with a guide and uses asterisks to denote the beginning and end of repeated stitch patterns.** **If there is any way that my pattern fails in being accessible to you or if there is some way it could be improved, I welcome and all comments and will aim to be as accommodating as I can. I wish to share The Egg and the whimsical happiness it brought me with as many people as possible.** [1]: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/417-kippah [2]: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/egg-whole--fried-amigurumi
