The body of the coat is worked bottom up and in the round with a steek at the center front opening and a steek at each armhole. Stitches are bound off at the shoulders to create shoulder shaping, then the shoulders are joined with a visible 3-needle BO. The neckband is CO and worked flat before joining to the neckline with another 3-needle BO, then the ribbing is continued vertically down through the buttonhole band and the button band to the hem. The buttonhole and button bands are sewn onto the body, then an Icelandic BO finishes the hem. Lastly, the sleeves are worked in the round from the armhole to the cuff. **Sizes** **(1,2,3)(4,5,6)(7,8,9)** with finished sweater bust & hem circumferences: **(93,104,115.5)(124,133,144)(153,167,175.5)**cm / **(36.5,41,45.5)(48.75,52.25,56.75)(60.25,65.75,69)**" Intended to be worn with about 20 to 30cm / 8 to 12" of positive ease at bust and/or hem. A list of measurements and schematic is provided on page 3 of the pattern. **Yarn** Jamieson's of Shetland, Shetland Spindrift (100% Pure Shetland Wool; 105 metres / 115 yards per 25 grams) in 6 colours, C1-C6 listed below, with approximate metreage and yardage. Stranded patterning: 28 sts / 33 rnds to 10cm / 4" using size B needles. **Needles & Notions** The stranded gauge was achieved with the following size B needle size. To work the pattern as written, you must swatch the stranded patterning and use a needle size that will result in the correct listed gauge after blocking. Note: you may need to use a smaller needle for the single-colour rnds embedded in the stranded patterning, especially, if from past experience, you find that your single-colour stockinette gauge is looser than your multi-coloured stranded knitting gauge. **Size A:** 2.75mm (US 2) circular needles of varying lengths for the 1x1 ribbing **Size B:** 3.25mm (US 3) circular needles of varying lengths for the stranded patterning You will also need: 12 buttons sized at 2.5cm / 1" diameter; either a crochet hook and yarn, darning needle and thin yarn/thread, or felting tool and board for reinforcing steeks; scissors for cutting steeks; spare interchangeable cables, spare needles or scrap yarn for holding stitches; stitch markers.
