Roomy V Neck

The Roomy V-Neck is a top-down sweater featuring an oversized, boxy silhouette with dropped shoulders and a deep V-neck. The back yoke is shaped using German short rows for an improved fit, then stitches are picked up and the shoulders are knit while shaping the neckline. The front and back are joined and the body is worked in the round, with sleeves picked up and knit from the armholes. Designed with exaggerated proportions, this piece is perfect for effortless layering over a classic tee. Offered in 5 sizes, The Roomy V-neck is designed to be worn with lots of positive ease to ensure an oversized boxy fit. Choose a size based on how oversized you’d like it but ideally something in the 12”-18” range of positive ease. The sample is knit in a size 3, worn with 18" of ease, in the color latte. The sample is a size 3 knit in the colorway Latte. Skeins needed 2 (2) 3 (3) 3 or 887 (948) 1104 (1202) 1337 yards. Materials needed- 5.5 mm (US 9) 80cm/32” circular needle, or size needed for gauge. Used for the body and sleeves 5 mm (US 8) 80cm/32” circular needle, or one size smaller than gauge needle. Used for the body ribbing and sleeve cuff (using magic loop for the cuff) 4.5 mm (US 7) 80cm/32” circular needle, or two sizes smaller than gauge needle. Used for collar ribbing. Notions needed- Stitch Marker one fixed and one removable, extra cables or scrap yarn, tapestry needle. Techniques used- long tail cast on, knitting flat, knitting in the round, German short rows, M1R/M1L increases, SSK/K2TOG decreases, picking up stitches, resting stitches on a cable, center double decreases for the collar, and Italian bind off with double knitting setup rows.
