Shepherd Tammy White uses botanical dying to create stunning colors that transform her flock’s natural fibers into distinctive yarn. This design honors Tammy’s connection with her sheep and the environment. The rhythmic stitch pattern offers knitters a soothing and enjoyable process knit, while the result is a wearable piece of art featuring simple texture and color placement that allows the yarn to shine. The cowl is knit flat and seamed in the back for ease of styling, with the top front of the neck intended to be folded in. Use one or more contrast colors to reflect your personal style. Note that the recommended yarn is available in both 250 yard/4 ounce “full” skeins and 126 yard/2 ounce “half” skeins. It may be labeled DK or Light Worsted. **The pattern addendum provides a recipe to modify size, work at an alternate gauge, and/or use any weight of yarn.** Yardage Requirements (for recommended yarn, held singly): 250 yards (229 meters) total. 178 yards (163 meters) MC; 19 yards (17 meters) each of CC1 and CC2; 34 yards (31 meters) of CC3.
