DETAILS SIZE Adult: ~ 9” tall x 8.5” wide to fit 21 – 23” head circumference. GAUGE 11 sts and 13 rows = 4x4” / 10x10 cm in Stockinette worked flat on US 15/ 10mm YARN Super Bulky Yarn (weight 6) in two contrasting colours. APPROXIMATE YARDAGE OF YARN REQUIRED Main colour: 60 yards Contrast colour: 20 yards NEEDLES US 13 / 9 mm, 16” circular needles US 15 / 10 mm, 16” circular needles & double pointed needles **I am a tighter knitter and you may find it necessary to size down to US 11 / 8mm for brim & US 13 / 9mm for body of hat to meet gauge - you may end up too small if you pull your colourwork too tight and too big if you’re a looser knitter.** NOTIONS Tapestry Needle, stitch marker, scissors, pom pom (optional) This pattern is worked in the round from brim to top. With the exception of the ribbed brim (k1, p1), it is entirely knit in stockinette with stranded colourwork. Be mindful of floats when switching colours.
