Catlady Sweater

The Catlady Sweater is a beginner friendly pattern. The sweater is designed as raglan and knitted top-down. It is knitted seamlessly in one piece. Either on the front or on the back (instructions for both are given) the silhouette of a cat can be worked into the sweater by using simple purl stitches. We start with the neckline and shape the back by using German short rows. Afterwards we continue in rounds with the raglan increases while at the same time starting with the cat silhouette. Once the desired width is reached the stitches for the sleeves are put on hold and we continue with the body which we finish with a simple ribbing and a stretchy bind off. To finish the sweater both sleeves are worked in the round, all the ends are weaved in and the sweater can be washed and blocked. ## Techniques used ## ------------------------ knit and purl stitches, German short rows, make 1 left/right, make 1 left/right purl wise, stretchy bind off, backwards loop cast on, knit 2 together, slip knit and pull over (skpo) ## Sizes ## --------- The pattern is available in the sizes (XS, S, M), (L, XL, 2XL, 3XL), (4XL, 5XL, 6XL) with the following finished bust circumference: (86, 96.5, 107), (117, 127, 137, 147), (157.5, 168, 178) cm (34, 38, 42), (46, 50, 54, 58), (62, 66, 70) in The finished sweater is intended to have a positive ease of roughly 15 cm / 6 in ## Suggested Yarn ## --------- BC Garn Semilla or a similar wool, which means 160 m per 50 g / 175 yards per 50 g In the sample pictures I did use the color 26 (Indigo) You are going to need approximately (950, 1000, 1100), (1250, 1400, 1500, 1650), (1800, 1950, 2100) m (1040, 1100, 1200), (1370, 1530, 1640, 1800), (1970, 2130, 2300) yards ## Needles and Notions ## ------------ Two needle sizes are required. The bigger one for reaching gauge (in stockinette stitch in the round) and the smaller one for the ribbing, I used * 3.75 mm for the stockinette part * 3.25 mm for the ribbing Other Notions: * BOR marker * 9 additional stitch markers (7 for the raglan seams and two for the cat silhouette) * tapestry needle ## Gauge ## ----------- Stockinette stitch in the round to obtain 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inc: 22 stitches and 30 rounds. Adapt the needle size to reach gauge.
