(Español más abajo) **ENGLISH** The Llanes hat is a basic 2x2 rib hat that comes in 3 sizes, from age 2 to adult. It is worked in the round from the ribbed edge up to the crown. It’s a perfect hat for quick gifts because it’s simple to knit and, thanks to the stretchy fabric, it will fit everyone in the family. **MATERIALS** * 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, 40 cm / 16” long. You can change to 80 cm / 32” long when you get to the crown decreases and use the magic loop method, or use double-pointed needles. * Markers and tapestry needle. **SIZES** 2-5 years (6-12 years, adult) **YARN** 100 (150, 200) m / 109 (164, 219) yd sport-weight yarn. You can also use a fingering-weight thread together with a lace-weight thread or even 3 lace-weight threads together – you’ll need that amount of metres/ yards for each thread. For the adult version I used John Arbon Yarnadelic (100% corriedale, 333 m / 364 yd in 100 g) in the English Sparrows (green) and Badi Da (greyish blue) colourways. For the children’s version I used one thread of Along Avec Anna Merino (100% merino, 200 m / 219 yd in 50 g) together with a thread of Along Avec Anna Silk Mohair (72% mohair, 28% silk, 210 m / 230 yd in 25 g) in the following colourways: Royal (blue) with Emeraude (green) and Tourmaline (pale pink) with Pralines (dark pink). **GAUGE** 28 stitches and 30 rounds in 10 cm / 4”, in 2x2 rib, after blocking. Gauge is not too important in this pattern because the fabric is very stretchy, but it may affect the amount of yarn you use. ____________________________ **ESPAÑOL** El gorro Llanes en un gorro básico de elástico 2x2 que viene en 3 tallas, desde 2 años a adulto. Se teje en circular, del borde del elástico hacia la corona. Un gorro perfecto para regalos rápidos ya que es sencillo de tejer y, gracias al punto elástico, le quedará bien a toda la familia. Llanes es un pueblo pesquero de Asturias, la región del norte de España donde nací. **MATERIALES** * Agujas circulares de 3,5 mm y 40 cm de largo. Puedes cambiar a unas de 80 cm de largo para hacer la corona con el método magic loop o un juego de agujas de doble punta (5 agujas). * Marcadores y aguja lanera. TALLAS Y DIMENSIONES 2-5 años (6-12 años, adulto) **LANA** 100 (150, 200) m de lana de grosor sport. También puedes usar una hebra de grosor fingering mezclada con una de lace (como mohair) o 3 de grosor lace juntas – necesitarías esos metros para cada una de las hebras. Para la versión de adultos yo usé John Arbon Yarnadelic (100% corriedale, 333 m en 100 g) en los colores English Sparrrows (verde) y Badi Da (azul grisáceo). Para la versión de niños yo usé una hebra de Along Avec Anna Merino (100% merino, 200 m in 50 g) y una hebra de Along Avec Anna Silk Mohair (72% mohair, 28% seda) en los colores Royal (azul) con Emeraude (verde) y Tourmaline (rosa pálido) con Pralines (rosa oscuro). **TENSIÓN** 28 puntos y 30 vueltas en 10 cm tejido en circular, en punto elástico 2x2, después de bloquear. La tensión no es muy importante en este patrón ya que es un punto tan elástico pero puede afectar la cantidad de lana que usas.
