Melody Cable Scarf

In July this year I set out to knit the alphabet, and this is my M knit. This scarf is inspired by music and memories, and vinyl weekends in particular, with the circular cables emulating the spinning records. Materials: • 5mm / US size 8 needles or size needed to meet the required gauge. • Cable needle. • Tapestry needle for sewing in threads. • Blocking materials. • Aran or light bulky weight yarn, approximately 110m / 120yds. The sample is shown in Cowgirlblues Aran Single - 80% merino wool, 20% mohair 120m / 131yds per 100g, and is shown in colourway Ruby Grapefruit. Size: One size. The scarf measures 10cm / 4” by 112cm / 44”. The length of the scarf is easily adjusted but will alter yardage requirements. Gauge: 20 stitches and 22 rows = 10cm / 4” working chart as provided and blocked. Working to gauge is not vital for this pattern, but a change in gauge will alter yardage requirements.
