Kiruna Cardigan

The **Kiruna Cardigan** is an all-over stranded colourwork cardigan, with an 80s inspired oversized fit. The pattern is calculated to have around 30 cm of positive ease, with large sleeves to complement the silhouette. The entire cardigan is knitted in the round and uses steeking to make that possible. The body is worked bottom-up and the sleeves are worked top-down. **Cardigan Sizes:** There are nine sizes in total, and the pullover is meant to have 25 to 30 cm (10 to 12 in) of positive ease. The finished cardigan's bust measurements are: 105 (115) 125 (135) 145 (155) 165 (175) 185 cm / 42 (46) 50 (54) 58 (62) 66 (70) 72 in Keep in mind the positive ease is based on bust measurements and that the pullover is specifically designed with 25 to 30 cm of positive ease; choosing a size with a lot less positive ease may cause some fit issues. **Suggested Gauge:** The gauge for the stitch pattern used is 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) = 21 sts x 24 rows on 4 mm needles. Keep in mind this gauge is achieved after blocking the swatch/cardigan. **Suggested Needles:** 4 mm (US 6): 40 cm (16 in) circular, 80/100/120 cm (32/40/47 in) circular (depending on size) and double-pointed needles 3.5 mm (US 4): 40 cm (16 in) circular, 80/100/120 cm (32/40/47 in) circular (depending on size) and double-pointed needles **Suggested Yarn:** Two colours of non-superwash DK-weight yarn that make a nice fabric with this gauge. Yarn used for the sample is Rauma Garn 3-tråds strikkegarn (50 gr = 108 m). Yarn Used: Around 320 (350) 370 (400) 420 (440) 460 (480) 500 gr of Rauma Garn 3-tråds strikkegarn in 138 as the main colour and around 250 (270) 280 (300) 320 (340) 350 (360) 380 gr of Rauma Garn 3-tråds strikkegarn in 100 as the contrast colour. **Notions:** Stitch markers, scrap yarn, tapestry needle, embroidery scissors, 9 toggle buttons 3 cm wide. Optional: around 2 meters of cotton ribbon, sewing needle and thread **Techniques Used:** Casting on, stranded colourwork knitting, working with colour dominance, making and knitting steek bridges, decreasing in colourwork pattern, three-needle bind-off, picking up stitches, binding off, reinforcing steeks, steeking, knitting button bands and button holes. **IMPORTANT NOTE: Sizes 6, 7, 8 and 9 are insufficiently test knitted.
