 The mathematically inclined will enjoy this exploration of form. While those 
who opt for minimalist basics will appreciate its elegant simplicity. A meditative, autopiloty pattern, the Plane & Simple (P.S.) Shawl is easy to knit and delightfully versatile. Using variations of the same technique, the pattern provides instructions for three shaping options: . a square that transforms into a classic triangle shawl, . a rhombus that transforms into a shallow triangle shawl, and . an indescribable mystery shape that transforms into a crescent shawl (technically a concave quadrilateral!) And the best part? It is all very easy. You just endlessly knit in the round, in stockinette. GAUGE
 18 sts x 24 rounds = 10cm/ 4” x 10cm/ 4” (or any gauge)

 NEEDLES 
circular needles 5mm in diameter or as needed to suit preferred yarn YARN 
lace-to-fingering-weight yarn that is airy and woollen spun YARN QUANTITIES 
 if knitted to stated dimensions, at stated gauge, project should require between 75g and 100g; larger shawls will require additional yarn; if you use a denser gauge this will also require additional yarn

lace-to-fingering-weight yarns that are airy and woollen spun, suitable for knitting above gauge (meaning, on bigger needles than you are meant to normally knit that weight). 
‘Gauzy’ yarns such as mohair/ silk blends in lace weight are ideal for this, but many other yarns will likewise work. The main criteria is that the yarn needs to be fine enough, so that the fabric does not become too thick or heavy when doubled. Because the shawl is double-faced. SAMPLES INFO.
