**Rosie Shawl & Cowl** The Rosie Shawl is a large crescent shawl in the style of my other “Family Member” shawls. She was designed when the idea to stripe the knit and purl pattern used in the Rachel shawl in the same way as in Alexander was conceived. Rosie is named after my cousin. She is Alexander’s big sister, so she is definitely related to both Rachel and Alexander! The main body of the shawl is a variation of a garter rib pattern which is easily memorisable making this a relaxing knit. There are fewer purl stitches than in Alexander though…that might make some people happy! **Information** **Yarn:** Shawl: 1 x 100g (425m) fingering weight yarn in Colour A and 1 x 100g (425m) fingering weight yarn in Colour B, the sample was knit using Isager Merilin (80% wool, 20% flax; 208m in 50g) in the colour ways Chocolate (9s) and Pale Pink (61) Cowl: 1 x 50g (approx. 200m) fingering weight yarn in Colour A and 1 x 50g (approx. 200m) fingering weight yarn in Colour B, the sample was knit using Cardiff Cashmere Prime (68% Cashmere, 32% silk, 300m per 25g) using one ball of each colour held double in the colour ways Hermes (146) and Marylin (134) **Needles:** US4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge **Gauge:** 30 sts & 44 rows to 10 cm/4” over garter rib blocked **Measurements:** Shawl: 200 cm/80” wingspan, 42.5 cm/17” depth Cowl: 60 cm/24” circumference, 42.5 cm/17” depth
