Quick to knit and perfect for gifting, this piece can be worn as a classic cowl or pulled up into a balaclava-style hood for extra warmth. The pattern includes four sizes to suit everyone. Knit in the round from the bottom up, the shaped cowl transitions seamlessly to the hood with a simple split under the chin. From there, it’s worked flat while continuing the easy cable pattern. Thoughtful decreases round the point of the hood and create a clean finish at the back. The top of the hood is joined with a fuss-free 3-Needle Bind Off. Add front ribbing, customized to your desired width, to finish it just the way you like. Choose your tie from I-Cord, ribbon, or even a long shoestring. Designed for DK weight yarn, Tryon Creek is wonderfully adaptable—try it in Worsted or Sport yarn weights including yarn from your stash.
