**This pattern is available both in English and French.** Velma brings together two of my favorite things in knitting – stripes and cables. Sometimes, the best choice is simply to take both. Worked seamlessly from the top down, Velma combines a fluid construction with a rich, rhythmic play of textures. The cables shape the body of the sweater, while the plain sleeves bring a lovely balance to the design. Despite its intricate look, the pattern is straightforward and enjoyable to knit. For my sample, I chose to combine two shades that give it a retro touch I really love, but it also works beautifully without stripes. Parfois, le meilleur choix, c’est tout simplement de prendre les deux. Tricoté d’une seule pièce, du haut vers le bas et sans coutures, Velma combine une construction fluide à un jeu de textures riche et rythmé. Les torsades structurent le corps du pull, tandis que les manches, plus simples, apportent un bel équilibre à l’ensemble. Malgré son apparence travaillée, le modèle reste simple à suivre et agréable à tricoter. Pour mon exemplaire, j’ai choisi d’associer deux teintes qui lui donnent un côté rétro, mais il fonctionne tout aussi bien sans rayures.
