Kaiku is a fun sock pattern for self-striping yarn. The socks are worked toe-up and feature a short row heel. The instep has a cute embroidery stitch that works best for self-striping yarns with approx. 0.5–0.75’’ / 1–2 cm wide stripes. Solid colours work best for contrast colour. The pattern is written for magic loop technique, but you can work the socks with dpns if you wish. **Size** S (M) L for 64 (68) 72 sts **Yarn** Taivaanranta Yarn Self Striping Sock (75% SW merino, 25% nylon, 425 m / 100 g), or other fingering weight yarn. Shown in colour Kaiku (MC) and Salmon (CC). 1 skein of MC, 1 mini skein (20 g) of CC. **Yardage** MC: 240 (250) 270 yds / 220 (230) 245 m, CC: 80 (85) 95 yds / 75 (80) 85 m. **Needles** US 1 (2.25 mm) - 36’’ / 100 cm long circular needle for magic loop, or dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge. **Gauge** 15 sts x 21 rnds = 2x2’’ / 5x5 cm in stockinette stitch worked in the round (after blocking). **Other** Stitch marker, tapestry needle. **Finished measurements** *Foot circumference:* 8.5 (9) 9.5’’ / 21.5 (22.5) 24 cm *Length from toe to cuff:* 14’’ / 32.5 cm
