I used a 5mm hook. Although it’s made based on measurements so any hook size can be used. Just note that if you use a bigger / smaller hook e.g. 3mm or 8mm then the design will look different. I used a variety of Drops Paris, which is an aran weight cotton yarn. It’s hard to say how many balls / meters to use as it depends on how many colours you want but I used around 9-12 balls of yarn. This is a perfect scrap yarn project. In summary, this pattern is super customizable and can be done with pretty much any hook / yarn combo! If you want a more intricate design, use a smaller hook or if you wanted it more mesh you could do a 6mm hook with mohair or alpaca silk!
