A pattern & tutorial for knitting beautiful colorwork mittens. These mittens are knitted in the round (either circulars or dpns) and can also be knitted in one color only. The pattern comes with written instructions and charts for 4 standard sizes, but puts a big emphasis on adjusting the instructions if you are using a different yarn and need a different size. **Included in the pattern:** * pdf with altogether 15 pages * very detailed step-by-step written instructions, tons of pictures and helpful tips * complete video tutorial that guides you through the whole pattern * charts for the Fair Isle details (and optional charts for different sizes) * video tutorials for all required knitting techniques are available (on my blog) **Sizes:** The idea of this pattern is to help you adapt the instructions to make it fit your body. But there are clear suggestions for 4 different sizes. Size/Hand circumferences XS = 16-17 cm S = 18-19 cm M = 20-21 cm L = 22-23 cm **Difficulty: intermediate knitters** This mitten pattern is geared towards intermediate knitters who are past their first potholder or garter stitch scarf. Seen by themselves, there are no crazily complicated stitches or techniques involved - quite to the contrary. I specifically used a simple construction and a simple design to keep it accessible. Still, the small diameter paired with the colorwork could quickly turn this into a challenge for some beginners. **Yarn and yardage:** A nice rustic sheep wool yarn in three colors. I used the Rauma "3-Trads Strikkegarn" (50g = 108 m / 118 yds) in the colors light grey, dark grey, and dark orange (103, 114, 177). For size M, I needed 48 g in light grey (color A), 30 g in dark grey (color B), and 15 g in orange (color C). Colorwork works best with slightly fuzzy yarn. I'd be careful with most superwash or cotton yarns. If you are looking for a vegan alternative, polyester typically works well for colorwork. **Skills required:** knit, purl, KLL, KRL, k2tog, SSK, a standard longtail cast-on, a knitted cast-on, and the basics of Fair Isle knitting. You also need to know how to knit in the round. Step-by-step video tutorials are available for all techniques. **Additional materials:** tape measure, stitch markers, blocking board, or mitten blockers
