**Heidi Sweater** is worked seamlessly from the top down, in stockinette stitch, with trims in twisted ribbing.
The project starts with the neckband. The neckline is then shaped using short rows, while raglan increases are worked along the yoke. After the yoke is completed, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold, and the body is worked straight to the hem.
The sleeves are then worked in the round using Magic loop (or preferred method).
**Sizes**
1 (2, 3, 4) 5 (6, 7, 8).
Finished garment circumference: 104 (108, 114, 118) 124 (134, 144, 154) cm.
Recommended ease: approx. 20–30 cm.
**Gauge**
20 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles.
**Yarn**
– one strand of both yarns are held together throughout:
Hjelholts Uldspinderi, Dansk Pelsuld 8/2 – 100% wool (400m/100g):
approx. 250 (250–300, 300, 300) 300 (350, 350, 400) gram.
Knitting for Olive, Soft Silk Mohair – 70% mohair, 30% silk (225m/25g):
approx. 125 (125, 125, 125–150) 150 (150, 150–175, 175) gram.
Or other yarn/yarns that give a fabric with a nice drape at the correct gauge, for example:
Yarn held single: a yarn with 250–300m/100g,
or
Two strands held together: one strand of yarn with 350–400m/100g (sport/fingering weight) held together with
one strand of yarn with 800–900m/100g (lace weight):
Approx. 950 (1000, 1050, 1100) 1150 (1250, 1350, 1500) meter (each, if using two strands).
**Suggested needles**
4 mm circular needles 60 cm and 100–120 cm, for stockinette stitch.
3.5 mm circular needles 40 cm and 100–120 cm, for ribbing.
Optional (if not using Magic loop): double pointed needles 4 mm & 3.5 mm.
**Notions**
Stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle. Optional: elastic thread.
**Size guide**
The sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) 5 (6, 7, 8) are intended to fit a bust measurement (body circumference) of approx. 80 (85, 90, 95) 100 (110, 120, 130) cm.
Heidi Sweater is intended to fit with approx. 20–30 cm of positive ease around the bust. Positive ease is the difference between your body measurement and the garment measurement – the finished circumference of the garment is meant to be approx. 20–30 cm larger than your bust measurement.
Measure your bust circumference at its widest part, then look at the finished circumference of the garment and choose a size that is approx. 20–30 cm larger than your body measurement.
For example – if your bust measurement is 94 cm, size 4 will give you 24 cm of ease, while size 3 will give you 20 cm of ease. It may be helpful to measure some of your favourite garments, to decide how much ease you prefer.
