I love a round yoke! This time I wanted it to pop, and I added clusters of bobbles. They are so fun to work, and the result is amazing. **Design and construction** The sweater is worked top-down and seamlessly. For easy dressing, I added buttons on the back. The yoke is fully patterned; I was imaginating leaves decorated with walnuts. The pattern is tested and proof-read. You find the list of testers at the bottom of these notes. **Sizes** Finished chest circumferences/ages: Size 1: 48 cm/19.75" - 3 months Size 2: 52 cm/20.5" - 6 to 9 months Size 3: 57 cm/22.5" - 2 years Size 4: 61 cm/24" - 3 to 4 years Size 5: 65 cm/25" - 5 - 6 years **Materials** The brown sample uses 2 strands of yarn, held together. **Yarn 1:** Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive, in the shade Brown Bear. This lace-weight yarn comes in balls of 25 gr/0.88 oz and 225 m/246 yards. **Yarn 2:** Alpaca 2 from Isager Yarn, in the shade 8 S Eco. This fingering-weight yarn comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 250 m/273 yards. If using the above 2 yarns held together you will need approximately 250/290/380/450/500 m = 275/320/415/490/545 yards of each of the yarn qualities. The white sample uses 1 strand of yarn: Biolana from Mondial, in the shade 0340. This bulky weight yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 100 m/109 yards. If using this yarn you will need approximately 250/290/380/450/500 m = 275/320/415/490/545 yards. A note: this yarn is of bulky weight and supposed to be worked using larger needles. I found that it also worked out great for needles 4 mm/US6. **Please note:** all my testers used normal DK weight yarns. They all worked out perfectly. **Needles** 4 mm/US6 for the yoke and stockinette sts, 3.5 mm/US4 for the ribbed neck, hem and cuffs. **Gauge**: 22 sts and 30 rows in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4" **The pattern** - The yoke is fully charted, as well as written out row by row - There is a schematic - The measurements are given in cm's, as well as in inches - The pattern is tested and proof-read **Tecniques involved:** - cast on, bind off - short rows (explained) - buttonholes (link provided) - bobbles (link provided) - increases by yo, m1r, m1l - working different abbreviations: k2tog, ssk, CDD (centred double decrease), yo, p2tog, p3tog, as well as working knit sts left/rightwise, working purl sts left/rightwise - working in pattern, following charts and/or written instructions - working flat - working in the round **I concider the difficulty to be intermediate** **Thanks to my wonderful and talented testers:** 1957karenh / Clicque / donnamcwilliams73 / ejmsasha / eskulanak knitabitknitwit / Lynne113 / Mozart11
