*The Delft Pullover is a Fair Isle sweater with motifs inspired by the decorative floral and windmill themes in Dutch pottery. Its high neck and oversized fit make this sweater a cozy yet lightweight sweater due to the lofty yarn used.* **CONSTRUCTION** — The Delft Pullover is worked top down, in the round, and seamlessly. Circular needles are used to work in the round, beginning with the neckband. The yoke is begun in the colorwork chart with increases throughout, followed by German short rows to raise the back neck. The yoke is then divided and the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked then finished with 1x1 ribbing and bound off. The sleeves are worked one at a time, placing the held stitches back onto circular needles or DPNs. They are worked in stockinette stitch in the round while gradually decreasing to the wrist, finishing with ribbing to match the body. **SUPPLIES** — **Main Color (MC):** 775 (865) 930 (1025) 1085 (1205) 1265 (1400) 1480 yds [[710 (790) 850 (940) 995 (1105) 1155 (1280) 1350 m]] of Yarnalia Cloud (50g; 142 yds [[130m]] per ball) in color Buttermilk or similar aran/heavy worsted weight yarn. **Contrasting Color (CC):** 150 (160) 180 (195) 220 (240) 260 (280) 295 yds [[135 (145) 165 (180) 200 (220) 235 (255) 270 m]] of Yarnalia Cloud (50g; 142 yds [[130m]] per ball) in color Indigo. 3.75mm(US5) 16” circular needles [[40 cm]] for Italian tubular cast on 4mm(US6) DPNs, 16”and 32-40” circular needles [[40 and 80-100 cm]] for ribbing 5mm(US8) DPNs, 16” and 32-40” circular needles [[40 and 80-100 cm]] for stockinette 5.5mm(US9) 16” and 32-40” circular needles [[40 and 80-100 cm]] for colorwork Notions: 1 stitch marker, scissors, yarn needle, waste yarn/barber cord, measuring tape Optional: Counter or locking stitch markers for round counting **SIZES** — 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7 (8) 9 Finished bust measurement: 38 (42) 46 (50) 54 (58) 62 (66) 70” [[95 (105) 115 (125) 135 (145) 155 (165) 175 cm]] Measure fullest point of torso and add recommended ease to find the ideal finished bust measurement. This sweater is designed with a recommended positive ease of 8” [[20 cm]]. It is oversized and drapes straight through the body. The sample pictured is worn with 8” [[20 cm]] of ease. The sleeve, body, and ribbing lengths can all be customized. **GAUGE** — (5mm needle) 16 sts x 22 rows = 4” [[10 cm]] in stockinette stitch worked in the round, wet blocked. (5.5mm needle) 16 sts x 22 rows = 4” [[10 cm]] in stranded colorwork worked in the round, wet blocked. **SKILLS** — This is a written pattern assuming foundational sweater knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project. This pattern requires a working knowledge of knitting in the round, German short rows, increasing, decreasing, reading a chart, stranded colorwork, Italian cast on and bind off. Circular needles are used to work in the round, switching cable lengths as the yoke grows and then is divided. The sleeves are worked with the shortest cable length, then DPNs as they decrease. Double pointed needles are used for the sleeve cuff ribbing. The suggested cast on and bind off methods can be substituted with any other.
