The Ember Cardigan is a cozy, textured V-neck cardigan that is knit up using a drop-shoulder construction. Its asymmetric cable pattern is a welcome challenge for experienced knitters and encourages a “just-one-more-row” mentality which makes the project fly by in no time. The cardigan is designed to have a boxy and rather cropped fit, providing a nice balance to the thicker gauge. **SIZING** The Ember Cardigan comes in 6 sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6). For reference, the size in all the pictures is a size 3. **Finished measurements:** * Bust circumference: 105 cm (115 cm) 125 cm (140 cm) 150 cm (160 cm) * **Arm hole depth**: 20 cm (20 cm) 22.5 cm (24.5 cm) 26.5 cm (26.5 cm) * **Length**: 51 cm (51 cm) (55 cm) 59 cm (63 cm) 68 cm The cardigan is designed to have quite a significant amount of positive ease of 20 - 35 cm. Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) are recommended for bust circumferences 75 – 85 (85 – 95) 95 – 110 (110 – 125) 125 - 140 (140 - 150) cm. For reference, Bella is wearing a size 3 in all pictures. **Note**: Due to the complex cable pattern and wide width of stitch repeats, the gap in widths for the different sizes is quite high. Therefore, sizes 2 and 5 were added as in-between sizes. Both of the sizes are constructed in the same way as sizes 1 and 4, respectively, and only have some extra width added underneath the arm. **YARN** The pattern is suited for a wide variety of yarn. Here are some of my favourite suggestions: * 600 (600) 700 (700) 800 (800) g of Wool Local Aran by Erika Knight (180 m / 100 g) **or** * 600 (600) 600 (700) 800 (800) g of Riti by Amano (200 m / 100 g) **or** * 550 (550) 600 (700) 800 (800) g of Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn (91 m / 50 g) **or** * 550 (550) 600 (700) 800 (800) g of Peruvian Highland Wool by Filcolana (100 m / 50 g) **held together with** * 125 (125) 150 (175) 175 (200) g of Silky Kid by Kremke (210 m / 25 g) **or** * 125 (125) 150 (175) 175 (200) g of Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive (225 m / 25 g) **or** * 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (200) g of Babyalpaka Lace by Kremke (400 m / 50 g) **or** * 600 (600) 700 (800) 800 (800) g of Pure Tweed by Erika Knight (160 m / 100g) **held single** **or** * 600 (600) 650 (750) 800 (800) g of Finull by Rauma Garn (175 m / 50 g) **held double** The sample shown in the pictures is knit up in the Peruvian Highland Wool in the color 977 Marzipan, held together with Soft Silk Mohair in the color Marzipan. **Note**: A few of the test knitters experienced gauge issues while knitting with Pure Tweed by Erika Knight or Finull by Rauma Garn and had to go down a needle size. If you are a particularly loose knitter, please be mindful when choosing these yarns. **OTHER MATERIALS** * 4 mm and 5 mm circular needles * 4 buttons (20 - 22 mm) * stitch markers * darning needle General Note: As a “one-woman-show” I translated this pattern myself. As a native German grammar mistakes in the English pattern can occur. The first 4 sizes of the pattern have been test knitted, so you should be good to go - if you have any questions or problems, please contact me at quasigerade@web.de - Thank you so much for your support! If you want to work sizes 5 and 6 which have not been test knitted yet, please also feel free to reach out! I would be happy to discuss pattern discounts with you. Happy Knitting! Bella
