Crybaby Sweater

**About the pattern** This is an advanced beginner drop shoulder sweater, worked top down in panels, knit in stockinette stitch. The back yoke is shaped using German Short Rows, and then the back panel is worked. The shoulders are picked up and stranded colour work is used to create the graphic on the front. The front and back panels are then seamed together. Sleeve stitches are picked up and knit in the round. This pattern includes **30 cm** of positive ease in the circumference of the garment. For a less oversized fit, consider using finer yarn or knit a smaller size. For reference, my bust measures 82 cm, I am 5'5 and wearing a size S in the pictures at the end of the pattern. **Techniques used** -Long tail cast on -1 x 1 ribbing -Stockinette st -Switching needle size -M1R (Make 1 Right) -M1L (Make 1 Left) -K2tog (Knit 2 Together) -SSK (Slip, Slip, Knit) -Picking up stitches -Folded hem -German Short Rows -Backwards loop cast on -Folded collar -Intarsia / stranded colour work -Travelling loop (optional) -Seaming **Gauge** 17 sts x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (4" x 4") stockinette stitch, after blocking, on 5.5 mm (US 9) needles. **Reaching gauge is very important to ensure the correct fit of the garment.** **Yarn** Yarn used: Drops Air, 50 g, 150 m (164 yds) Colours used: Off White 01, Black 31 Good substitution: Hobbii Divina, Drops Nepal or or anything with similar yardage / worsted / aran weight. **Materials Needed** -5.5 mm needles (US 9) for the body and 20 cm cable (to make 40 cm interchangeable needles)/ circular needles for the arms. -4.5 mm needles (US 7) for ribbing. -Darning needle for bind off, seaming and weaving ends. -Tape measure. -Stitch markers to track sleeve decreases **Measurements and Yardage** See images.
