When Melbourne gets cooler, I always reach for a shawl to brighten up my outfits and keep me warm. My favourite shawl shape to wear is an asymmetrical triangle. The end product is versatile to wear, and I can mindfully enjoy the knitting process without having to constantly refer to a pattern. This shawl is the perfect combination of a simple pattern, a beautifully fitting accessory and a fun way to play with colour and yarn combinations. Starting at one tip of the triangle, you will work increases until you reach the widest part of the shawl. You then decrease stitches until the shawl ends at the other point of the triangle. Finished with an icord edge as you knit, the shawl is an engaging and satisfying project for beginner knitters through to experts. With two size options, this shawl is a fantastic opportunity to combine those single DK weight skeins in your stash. The pattern is written for two colours, and the garter stitch pattern will allow the yarn to shine. A perfectly relaxing and quick knit, this shawl will become your favourite go-to pattern for using special skeins and is a perfect project for gift knitting, too. Grab your needles and some gorgeous yarn, and join the fun in knitting up this squishy, cosy shawl! This pattern has been tech edited and fully tested. I warmly welcome any feedback or questions about the pattern. Happy making! Kath xx **Options/Features** DK weight (8ply) gauge Easy and relaxing garter stitch Use those special single skeins Variety of yarn options to achieve gauge Two sizes Wearable asymmetrical triangle shape Easy striped transition, no stranded colourwork required **Yarn** MC - 100g (200g) of any DK weight (8ply) yarn (approx 200m per 100g) or equivalent CC - 100g (100g) of any DK weight (8ply) yarn (approx 200m per 100g) or equivalent To get the DK weight (8ply) gauge, you can hold a single strand of DK weight (8ply) yarn, or you can hold fingering weight (4ply) yarn double, or hold a strand of fingering weight (4ply) yarn together with a strand of laceweight (2ply) silk mohair or alpaca silk. **Needles** 5mm (US8) 60cm (24”) circular needles **Sizes** This pattern comes in two sizes. Small (Large) The Small size is designed to use up to two 100g skeins of DK weight (8ply) yarn. One skein will be your MC and the other will be your CC. Unblocked, the size Small has a length of approximately 1.6m and it can be blocked out to around 2m. The widest part of the shawl measures around 30 cm when blocked. The Large size is designed to use up to three 100g skeins of DK weight (8ply) yarn. You will need two skeins for your MC and one skein for your CC.
