Dahlia Mittens

My favourite flowers are dahlias, so of course I’m naming this lovely mitten pattern after them because, for me, these mittens seems just as delicate as the flower I adore♡ The Dahlia Mittens are soft and classic mittens, that are knitted from the cuff up, making the thumb gusset increaases, seperating the thumb from the body. The thumb will be knitted last, after the body of the mitten has been bound off. Sizes a (b - c) d - e (f - g) To choose your size, you are going to measure around the palm of your hand. 15 (16,5 - 18) 19 - 20,5 (22 - 23) cm / 6 (6,5 - 7) 7,5 - 8 (8,5 - 9) inch circumference. Yarn Approximately 150–250 meters /165–273.4 yards of fingering weight yarn, and 130–220 meters / 142–240.6 yards of lace weight yarn held together or a single strand of suitable yarn that gives you the correct gauge. The sample mittens in brown are knitted in Knitting for Olive Merino in colourway Brown Bear and Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in colourway Brown Bear held together. And the sample fingerless mittens in blue/green are knitted in Knitting for Olive Merino in colourway Dusty Sea Green and Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in colourway Dusty Aqua held together. Gauge 26 sts and 40 rounds = 10cm / 4 inches worked in stockinette stitch, on 3.5 mm / US 4 needle, in the round, blocked. Needles 3.5 mm / US 4 and 3,0 mm / US 2.5 and at least 80cm / 32 inch circular needle for using Magic Loop Technique or size needed to obtain gauge Optional: DPNs in the same size if preferred or a 25 cm / 9” wire if you change for the longer wire when you start increasing the top of the mitten (this will be especially useful with the larger sizes) Notions Tapestry needle, stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders, and measurement tape
